That was quite the festive day indeed!

What a treat to see the boys and girls of the CCF in their uniforms, after having worked so diligently on their performance. Such a shining example to all the eager little ones in the crowd, I know. I’m sure the stalls and displays and street performances were quite charming, and of course the events at Buckingham were all that one might expect.

It does make one reflect on how the choices we make early in our life echo forward. Each and every one of the students I’ve seen while observing at the CCF site has made a choice to commit to the hard work and service of Our Lord, and should be commended.

And yet, there are others who have chosen to be selfish with their time and energies, to put their own personal interests above the good of the Protectorate. Failing to develop all of one’s possible skills in service to Our Lord’s work is just as selfish as shirking your duties or letting others carry your responsibilities. We must all strive to work closely together, each lending hand and wand to the necessary work, finding joy in our shared unity.

I do hope that those both young and old take a moment in the wake of our shared celebration to reflect on the devotion and dedication that can be shown, and renew their commitment to Our Lord, the Protectorate, and our glorious magical world.

Madame Umbridge -

My apologies for not catching up with you sooner, but sorting the details of the meal schedule for the next few week took a little longer than expected, given the packed lunches for Saturday and next Wednesday.

So many people seem to have an interest in my life these days! It's very generous of you to offer your help and advice, since I know you've a number of other responsibilities on your mind. I did appreciate the chance for a small pause, but I was sure, of course, that everyone here would do a fine job. (And of course, my role now we've gotten started has always been planned to allow for flexibility.)

Other than the wedding on Saturday (such a nice touch for them both to invite all the Hogwarts staff), I do expect to arrange one other appointment. The timing on that is still under discussion, but I'll certainly let you and the programme instructors know once I do. Anything else should be relatively brief, or entirely at the discretion of the oversight board.

I do think the parade came off really quite well, and that the students pulled together impressively to find solutions.

I've a few things to check on, but I'll stop by the office before I leave the site, in case there's any last needs tonight. And of course, be back bright and early in the morning.
